Family of Man

This is a mixed-media monotype that was inspired after a family reunion in Oregon. We had many members of our family from all over the US present and representing three generations. There were four generations present at the last reunion five years ago.

This gathering made me think about how the past ties with the present and how the ties span generations, states, countries and ideologies.

Family of Man uses a collection of photos from the generation just past. My grandmother is in the upper right smiling on the others. There are great-aunts and unccles, cousins and second cousins.We are the Gregory's.

We meet again in 2008 in California. I wonder what artwork will be inspiried from that visit.
